ICORating Names Most Secure Cryptocurrency Exchanges
The ICORating experts evaluated the security level of 135 crypto exchanges with the daily trading volume exceeding $100,000 and named the platforms with the highest level of protection. The report is published on the company’s website.
During the research, all crypto exchanges were classified by the security levels. The most protected platforms got the A rating, these include Kraken and Cobinhood, taking the first and the second lines, correspondingly. The Poloniex exchange is the third with the A- rating.
The researches were guided by such criteria, as clients’ accounts security, ability to react to DoS-attacks and to resist them, web-security, and domain protection. Only 16% of the most famous crypto exchanges were ranked A and A-, and none of the platforms reached the A+ level.
As for users’ accounts protection, the safety requirements were satisfied by 22% of cryptocurrency exchanges. Domain protection corresponded to all criteria only in case of 3% of platforms, whereas 75% of all the assessed were fully protected from DoS-attacks.
The top 5 crypto exchanges include also BitMEX and Bitfinex, and Coinbase Pro took the ninth position. The Binance trading platform got the place in the thirties, the Winklevoss brothers’ exchange Gemini was ranked 84th, and Houbi — 95th.
It should be noted that the Kraken crypto exchange, according to CoinMarketCap as of January 18, 10:30 (UTC), was ranked 35th by the daily trading volume amounting to $84.9 million. The first place was occupied by Binance with $599.2 million.
As reported previously, Kraken, an American trading platform, plans to conduct a private offering of shares.
