Colorado Governor To Create Safe Haven For Cryptocurrencies In State
The Colorado governor Jared Polis added the blockchain topic to his political campaign for 2018, Cointelegraph reports referring to the politician's statement.
Polis intends to implement five blockchain-based projects, including the cybersecurity infrastructure development during elections and the safe harbor creation for free circulation of cryptocurrency without legislation obstacles.
The governor also promotes the ideas of creating the state power system on blockchain, the corporate governance mechanism to reduce bureaucracy and conduct research in the sphere of decentralized technologies. Polis told in his blog about the intention to develop a legal system aimed at the cryptocurrencies protection, applicable for the products and services exchange.
Few US states have already demonstrated the results of decentralized systems implementation. Dannel Malloy, Connecticut governor, said that he has assembled a team to study blockchain. He wants to make the state a leader in distributed technologies development. Tennessee governor Bill Haslam in March approved the bill on the legal recognition of the blockchain and smart contracts' status as mechanisms for online transactions.
As previously reported, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) postponed the final verdict date of the BTC-ETF launch, initiated by SolidX and VanEck companies.
