Samsung Galaxy S10 To Support Ethereum
The online store of smartphone applications T Store, the subsidiary of South Korea’s leading telecom company SKT, introduced the Samsung Blockchain KeyStore data storage platform and the cryptocurrency wallet for the Samsung Galaxy S10, CCN reports.
As follows from the description of Blockchain Keystore, Samsung sees a wide range of opportunities for blockchain use in various sectors, including banking, e-commerce, insurance, copyright management, content distribution, and cryptocurrency operations.
The crypto wallet is compatible with ether and the ERC-20 standard tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, including Enjin Coin and Basic Attention Token (BAT). According to the assumptions of journalists at the Hankyoreh local media, the new wallet will also probably carry out operations with bitcoin. The support for the ERC-20 standard makes the application more accessible since users will be able to add such tokens to the wallet directly through the app.
As previously reported, the South Korean corporation Samsung has released the Galaxy S10 smartphone with integrated hardware that allows storing private keys for mobile blockchain services. Galaxy S10 is positioned as a premium device that will create the basis for a new generation of smartphones. Samsung has become the third company to launch a blockchain smartphone. Previously, similar projects were carried out by SIRIN Labs and HTC.
