Former Attorney Of US Regulatory Body To Advise On Blockchain
Kari Larsen, the former managing director of the LedgerX bitcoin platform and advisor of the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), accepted a job offer from the law company Perkins Coie, according to the press release.
Larsen will work in the Perkins Coie division, which deals with issues related to blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and investment management. The branch was opened in May 2013 as the world's first legal support in the sphere of digital assets and distributed ledger technology.
Kari will share her vast experience and in-depth knowledge of the exchange platforms operation and the consumer sector with traders and companies, registered with CFTC, which focus on the launch of innovative products, including the crypto ones, J. Dax Hansen, the division chair, stated.
Larsen’s last place of work was Reed Smith, the NY company, where she served as an adviser and dealt with issues related to the organization of ICO and token sales. She held various posts in LedgerX and was responsible for legal issues, and from 1997 to 2000, she worked as a legal adviser in CFTC.
Kari Larsen claimed that the years of work in CFTC left a lasting impression on her. The Commission, she stated, was very attentive concerning the study of new products and marketplaces. The adviser believes that she will be able to share all the accumulated experience related to blockchain technology.
