Number Of Blockchain-Related Vacancies Increases By 300% In USA – Report
The number of vacancies in blockchain and crypto industries grew significantly in the USA in 2018. According to the report of the Glassdoor job search website, there were four times more such offers than last year, despite the downward trend in the digital currencies market.
Analysts have studied many vacancies of American employers, which contained the keywords “blockchain” and “bitcoin”, as well as other, narrower crypto terms. It is noted that as of August 2018, 1,775 vacancies were published, while Glassdoor posted only 446 such offers in 2017.
Crypto specialists are in the greatest demand in New York and San Francisco: these cities account for 24% and 21% of all job invitations, respectively. Almost 80% of job offers come from 15 major cities, among which are Seattle and Chicago.
The most popular employees are software developers, as follows from every fifth vacancy on the website. Basically, technology and development specialists are in demand in the USA: 55% of job offers are associated with these posts.
Glassdoor also notes high demand for analysts and market researchers, risk managers, and marketing managers.
The software company ConsenSys, which belongs to Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin, as well as the technology giant IBM, are among the most active employers. The firms published 200 vacancies each related to the crypto sphere. Moreover, Coinbase and Kraken crypto exchanges are looking for blockchain specialists.
