Justin Sun: SUN Network Launch To Not Affect Tron Mainnet
Justin Sun, CEO of the Tron cryptocurrency company, tweeted that the upcoming launch of the SUN Network (DAppChain) protocol would take place without upgrading the Tron mainnet.
He added that decentralized applications (DApps) operating in the blockchain will not be updated as well, but only if they are not transferred to DAppChain. For the convenience of the clients, it is necessary to integrate DApps into the sidechains SDK with a simple mechanism for shifting applications from the main distributed ledger to the protocol network, Sun explained.
The SUN Network protocol, according to the Tron CEO, will entail system improvements. In particular, the introduction of cross-platform infrastructure and sidechains to launch DApps are expected. According to Sun, these innovations will considerably improve the throughput of the blockchain, which also means an increase in the volume of crypto operations per second and an improvement in the performance of smart contracts.
The activation of SUN Network will take place in three phases. The launch of the protocol testnet is scheduled for May 30, 2019, and that of the finished version — for August 10. The optimization of DAppChain for synchronization with already implemented mechanisms, according to Tron representatives, will begin from September 15, 2019.
Earlier, Justin Sun announced on Twitter the launch of the USDT stablecoin based on the company's blockchain, which, in his opinion, would be the basis for expanding the capabilities of DApps developers.
