Winklevoss To Continue To Fight For Creation Of Bitcoin ETF

15:50 08/01/2019

The Winklevoss brothers took part in the traditional Ask Me Anything (AMA) session organized by Reddit and expressed their determination to create an investment fund pegged to bitcoin.

The brothers confirmed their intention to create a bitcoin ETF and stated that they were more determined than ever on this matter, despite the fact that the US Securities and Exchange Commission rejected their application again in July 2018.

Visitors of the website asked many questions about the plans of the twins, were interested in their opinions about the crypto sphere, and, in particular, about bitcoin. Cameron Winklevoss shared his optimistic view regarding bitcoin, which will always remain the number one cryptocurrency, and added that it will be successful in the long term.

Tyler Winklevoss stressed that bitcoin will be much more valuable than gold today. In the future, the market capitalization of the first cryptocurrency will exceed the market capitalization of gold, which now amounts to about $7 trillion.

Responding to a question about blockchain, Tyler stated that the distributed ledger technology cannot be considered separately from cryptocurrencies, one cannot exist without the other.

Regarding the potential of conventional and crypto exchanges, the brothers stated that fiat money is now important for the crypto sphere, but all the money will exist in the form of cryptocurrency in the future, as there is already the Gemini dollar pegged to the US dollar.

As previously reported, Gemini, the crypto exchange of the Winklevoss brothers, has created a mobile app for customers.
