User Publishes Video With Telegram Wallet Interface
A video with the demonstration of the Telegram wallet, which has not yet been released and which will be built into the popular instant messenger, appeared online. Since the project is still being developed, the published video may turn out to be either a real information leak or speculation of an anonymous social network user, Kommersant reports.
The video shows that the Telegram user enters the personal account using a QR code, which is scanned from a computer monitor. The service allows paying for games and other extensions with the internal Gram cryptocurrency. The purchase can be confirmed using a Touch-ID fingerprint.
Besides, users will be able to receive donations in tokens for live broadcasts. These coins will be transferred to the wallet. It is assumed that developers will add the ability to order products from the Internet through Telegram — for instance, many shops in China already accept similar tokens as payment.
As Alexander Egorov, a top manager at the Russian Phoenix Institute for Trading and Investment, explained, the main task of the developers is to ensure the maximum transaction security before the launch of the Telegram wallet. According to him, the messenger has a rather large audience and the IT component, which will allow the Gram cryptocurrency to find broad application.
The blockchain platform Telegram Open Network (TON) will be launched no later than October 31 of this year. Then, all the tokens will be immediately distributed among customers. If the release of the project does not take place at the appointed time, agreements with investors intending to purchase the Gram cryptocurrency may be terminated.
As previously reported, the capitalization of the Telegram tokens might reach $29.5 billion by the end of the year.
