Tron Founder Announces Launch Of USDT And SUN Network Update
Justin Sun, the head of the blockchain company Tron, tweeted the dates of the update of the SUN Network protocol and the launch of the USDT stablecoin on the Tron network.
The SUN Network test system is scheduled for launch on May 30, 2019. The start of the main network is scheduled for August 10. On September 15, the company is going to launch another network change, which will be aimed at improving synchronization with integrated modules.
According to Sun, the team plans to implement a mechanism for maximizing the main blockchain, while ensuring the safety of funds and retaining community support for creating a sidechain ecosystem.
The head of the company stated that USDT stablecoin will be launched on the basis of Tron on April 9, 2019. He noted that cooperation with Tether will be the basis for empowering developers of decentralized apps on the Tron blockchain.
There is a high level of interest in stablecoins based on the Tron network among institutional contributors, Sun stated. These investors aim to use products with additional anonymity since many customers want to hide the amount of funds.
In addition, stablecoins in the Tron network will allow developing the service of cross-border crypto payments, which will compete with projects such as Square or Stripe.
As previously reported, Justin Sun hinted at a possible partnership with the Ethereum project.
