Poloniex Announces Addition Of ATOM Tokens To Listing
The cryptocurrency trading platform Poloniex announced on its official website that it has added support for the ATOM tokens issued by the Cosmos blockchain company.
It is reported that at the initial stage of launching the Cosmos project’s ICO, users will not be able to purchase or sell tokens. However, they can pre-check their balance of the ATOM tokens on the Poloniex platform. To do this, they need to enter a seed phrase from the wallet in the specific window on the exchange's website.
The token trading in pairs with bitcoin and USDC will be available as soon as Cosmos users conduct a vote to enable these services. Thus, the exchange hopes to provide ICO participants with a simple and secure transfer of the digital assets to their accounts and the launch of trading operations, according to the website. The developers encouraged potential investors to open accounts in advance and replenish them before acquiring the ATOM tokens.
The stock exchange noted that the goal of the Cosmos project is to create a network of blockchains that can interact using a consensus mechanism called Tendermint Core. The project presents developments for solving problems of blockchain interoperability and scalability. The Cosmos Hub platform, functioning with the help of the Proof-of-Stake algorithm, was launched a few days earlier. The development of this project was carried out for three years.
Tendermint Inc. announced on Twitter the completion of A Series funding round, during which Cosmos managed to raise $9 million to develop the project.
As previously reported, Changpeng Zhao, the head of Binance, announced the start of testing the Binance Chain platform based on the Tendermint technology.
