Number Of Nodes In Lightning Network Reaches 5035
The Lightning Network (LN) continues its rapid development in 2019. According to the 1ml data as of January 3, 06:05 (UTC), the number of nodes increased by 16.58% over the last month.
The total number of nodes amounted to 5035. These connect 17,415 channels, the number of which increased by 37.9% in 30 days. The network participants transferred 537 bitcoins through these channels for the amount of more than $2 million.
Over the last 24 hours, 34 new nodes and 479 channels were created. The average commission is one satoshi.
At the end of December 2018, Jameson Lopp, a crypto enthusiast and the technical director of Casa, tweeted a message comparing the number of nodes on the LN network to the figures of January 2018. At that time, there was a few nodes and channels, which also points to the rapid development of the Lightning Network.
