eToro Platform Launches Mobile Wallet
An investment platform eToro, which serves more than 10,000 registered clients, has released its crypto wallet with initial support of bitcoin, ether, and Litecoin. The mobile wallet by eToro is already available on Google Play and App Store, according to the press release.
The developers promise to add new functions to the application later, including the option to deposit money and pay in shops, and the support of several more digital and fiat currencies. Also users will be able to convert one token to another directly in the wallet.
eToro reported on Twitter that residents of the EU, Gibraltar, and Switzerland can already utilize the app. However, for now, only the Platinum Club members, who keep at least $25 000 on their accounts on the platform, can make cryptocurrency transactions in the new wallet. The company will later remove this restriction and is planning to increase the audience along with adding new types of digital assets.
For security purposes, eToro offers a multi-signature procedure to its users. To work with the wallet, one needs to register, and then pass the mandatory verification on the website.
According to Yoni Assia, the company’s head, crypto technologies will revolutionize the field of finance, and most of the assets will be moved to blockchain. He believes that the world will be tokenized in the future, and cryptocurrency is only the first step towards this.
Earlier, the startup Dash launched a service for crypto transactions via SMS. The technology does not require a smartphone and works offline.
