Crypto Market Volume Grows By 4 Percent Over Week

The volume of the crypto market increased by 4% over the week and reached $140.6 billion in the morning of March 18, according to CoinMarketCap.

The crypto market continues to grow for several weeks, but has not yet reached its annual peak. At the end of February, the total value of all digital assets was $143.1 billion.

Bitcoin finally managed to reach a psychological mark of $4000. Some analysts expressed the opinion that the gradual increase in the value of the first cryptocurrency should begin from this price. The maximum weekly cost of bitcoin was $4074 on Saturday, March 16. It was traded at $4043 on Monday, March 18, at 05:00 (UTC).

Ether and Ripple (XRP) are still second and third in the rating, their value increased by 3.6% and 2.5%, respectively. Last week, users of the Abra crypto platform received the opportunity to conduct transactions with ether.

Among the other cryptocurrencies in the top ten, Stellar was worth particular attention. Over the week, it has grown in price by 10%, which was influenced by its addition to the Coinbase Pro listing. Stellar managed to shift Binance Coin one position down and become 7th in the rating, but the cryptocurrency of the same name exchange regained this position by March 18. Binance Coin increased in price by 8.6% over seven days.

Litecoin and EOS retain the 4th and 5th position in the CoinMarketCap rating, their value has risen by 10% and 4.2%, respectively. The Tether stablecoin dropped to the 9th place, and the TRON cryptocurrency, the price of which increased by 3.1%, is the last in the top ten.
