Coinbase Invests In Blockspring Startup
Coinbase, one of the world leading crypto companies, has acquired the Blockspring startup, dealing with the development of solutions for collecting data from different interfaces. The announcement was made in the startup’s blog.
The work and ideas of the Blockspring experts drew investors’ attention in 2015. At that time, several companies, including the major venture capital fund Andreessen Horowitz, invested in the startup, and Balaji Srinivasan, Coinbase CTO, praised the company’s activity.
Srinivasan’s words now resulted in the Coinbase's decision to acquire Blockspring. The startup professionals will work in the American cryptocurrency company and create unique products for it. The parties do not disclose the amount of the deal.
It is noted in the blog that Blockspring will continue working as an independent company, and its products will be available to current and future clients.
The startup representatives state that Blockspring’s main task is to create simple and affordable tools, and now, with talented developers from Coinbase, the company will be able to do better than on its own.
In December 2018, Coinbase Ventures and some other firms invested in the Nomics blockchain startup which attracted $3 million in the first investment round.
As previously reported, Brian Armstrong, Coinbase CEO, joined the Giving Pledge charity campaign.
