Coinbase Becomes Available To Residents Of Eleven New Countries

The leading US cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase became available to residents of 11 new countries, according to the company's blog.

Currently, the exchange provides cryptocurrency services to clients from 53 countries on four continents. The company's recent expansion steps allowed it to enter the market of India, which has a population of 1.3 billion. Moreover, the platform has become available in Mexico, Peru, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, the Philippines, Hong Kong, South Korea, New Zealand, and Indonesia.

The report states that users can use the services of the main crypto platform Coinbase, as well as that of the exchange Coinbase Pro.

Besides, Coinbase reported an increase in the direct cryptocurrency trading on a global scale, which exceeded the volume of crypto operations in pairs with fiat. In February 2019, the Coinbase verified transactions amounted to 51% of the total trading volume. In late summer 2018, this number was equal to only 41%. It is also reported that there are 10% more transactions, including the exchange of cryptocurrencies and stablecoins.

As previously reported, Coinbase launched cryptocurrency debit cards from Visa, which make it possible to pay with digital assets in stores or online. The cards will be tied to users' accounts and allow them to make transactions instantly or withdraw fiat money from ATMs.
