Binance Crypto Exchange To Be Launched In Argentina
Argentina will become another country where Binance, the world's leading trading platform, will open a crypto exchange providing fiat exchange option, Changpeng Zhao, the head of the platform, alluded on Twitter.
On the same day with Changpeng Zhao's tweet, some media confirmed this information indirectly. In particular, the CoinSpice website posted a link to a photo with an element of Argentine tango from Twitter of Binance chief and stated that the exchange will invest in blockchain startups as part of a joint program with the government of the country. Each of them will receive a grant in the amount of $50,000. Within one year, about ten startup projects will receive support.
The Argentinean authorities have recently demonstrated loyalty to the crypto sphere. In February 2019, residents of 37 cities of the country received the opportunity to pay for ride in urban transport with bitcoins.
Currently, about 260 Argentina companies, including 190 in the capital, Buenos Aires, accept crypto payments. There are eight bitcoin ATMs in the country. According to this indicator, Argentina ranks second among Latin American countries after Colombia with 40 bitcoin ATMs in operation.
Binance systematically extends its influence to many countries of the world. Apart from Argentina, the exchange is considering the possibility of opening platforms with the fiat exchange option in Turkey, South Korea, Russia, and some other states.
