Investors Support Bakkt Crypto Platform With $182.5 Million
Bakkt crypto company announced on its blog the completion of the first financing round, during which it managed to raise $182.5 million.
Twelve large corporations, including Microsoft, Galaxy Digital, Goldfinch Partners, Pantera Capital, and others, have become investors of Bakkt. Thus, they confirmed their confidence in the successful development of the crypto market, despite the decline in its capitalization.

The decline in the crypto market cap has not affected the development of the company, Kelly Loeffler, Bakkt chief, stated. The platform will strive to attract investors and customers as earlier, as well as cooperate with its business partners.
The bitcoin value, which fell below $4000 once again, should not detract from the ongoing events around the first cryptocurrency as a whole. Price does not always reflect the state of affairs. According to Loeffler, it is necessary to pay attention to other factors, in particular, technological changes.
The Bakkt platform is working on offering bitcoin futures contracts, and it was previously assumed that the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission would authorize trading in late January 2019. However, this term was postponed later. It is believed that the delay is caused by the Christmas holidays, as well as the suspension in the operation of the US government.
The path to the exploration of new markets is rarely smooth, and there may be various obstacles, but nothing will stop Bakkt from achieving its goal, Loeffler concluded.
