Enigma Startup Delays Launch Of Discovery Protocol In Ethereum
The representatives of a blockchain startup Enigma announced a delay of the Discovery protocol implementation in the Ethereum network, CoinDesk reports. Instead, it will be developed as a part of the company's roadmap.
The firm launched the protocol in test mode this summer. However, on Thursday, September 20, official information was published that the startup has adjusted its plans for the purpose of overall development of the Enigma ecosystem.
The team decided to extend the deadline for launch and focus on cooperation with partners to increase the firm's capabilities and develop secret contracts. The representatives urge users to follow the messages on the official blog to stay informed.
The CoinDesk staff members asked Tor Bair, a representative of Enigma, to comment on the situation. He believes that the postponement of the protocol launch cannot be considered a delay, as it will allow the company to reach its long-term mission of implementing a global system of decentralized apps more quickly, and there is no need to speculate on the timing of the project launch.
The Enigma development project is notable for its complexity and includes several mainnet launches scheduled for the next few years. The Discovery protocol should be an important milestone in the development of secret contracts technology in the Ethereum blockchain, which, in comparison with traditional smart contracts, are more confidential and can be used in various fields, for example, to protect medical or financial data.
As previously reported, the Tezos Foundation developers completed testing of their blockchain.
