Singapore Airlines Launches Crypto Wallet
Singapore Airlines announced the KrisPay wallet for passengers, who participate in the KrisFlyer loyalty program and fly frequently, according to the operator's website.
Now travelers can convert the air miles they have covered into the US dollars (approximately $0.10 per 15 miles) and pay with them in different places determined by the local partners of the airline.
The company will apply its private blockchain, which was developed together with Microsoft. The wallet beta version has been tested successfully in Singapore KPMG Digital Village. It is now available as an application for iOS and Android.
Clients can use it for payments in eighteen outlets, including gas stations, stores, and cafes. Later, the company plans to increase the number of partners on its platform.
As previously reported, CrimsonLogic (Singapore) launched a blockchain platform in the international trade.
