In US Woman Goes To Prison For Illegal Trading Of Bitcoins
In the US, the district court sentenced a 50-year-old Californian woman to imprisonment for criminal cryptocurrency operations and accessory to drug trafficking.
Following the Ministry of Justice, Teresa Tetley, who worked under the nickname of “Bitcoin Maven”, transferred up to $9.5 million in bitcoins without mandatory registration in the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network, and one of her clients is suspected of drug spreading.
For committed crimes, the woman will be imprisoned for one year in a federal prison. Also, she is waiting for a three-year supervision and a fine of $20 thousand. During the investigation, the law enforcement officials seized 25 gold bars, 40 bitcoins, and more than $292 thousand from Tetley.
