Educational Center In New York To Start Testing Blockchain
The NY Economic Development Corporation (EDC) has launched a blockchain center for educational purposes and may begin testing the technology this year, Bloomberg reports.
It is still unknown where exactly the organization will apply blockchain. Supposedly, it will be associated with the economic development of the metropolis since the activity of EDC is focused on the economy growth in New York.
First of all, the training center will give lessons on cryptography and programming, as well as conduct lectures for developers and all the interested. It is stressed that the industry leaders Microsoft and IBM have already begun to cooperate with the initiative.
The educational center was opened in partnership with a venture firm Future\Perfect Ventures and the Global Blockchain Business Council, which brings together industry representatives from 40 countries. The New York authorities have invested $100,000 in the development of the center. In the future, the initiative will be funded by corporate partners and project participants.
The New York Center was opened amidst news about massive reduction in the number of blockchain specialists in large companies, such as Bitmain and ShapeShift. However, this does not frighten employees, and the organization plans to prepare professionals in the field of crypto technologies. EDC senior strategist Ana Arino stated that the initiative will be long-term and will support the developing industry with specialists in the future.
Earlier, ConsenSys announced the creation of a blockchain business center in South Korea.
